Located just minutes to the west of Winnipeg off the Trans-Canadian Highway, John Blumberg GC is the city's longest and, according to the locals, the most challenging municipal course. Several holes play along the Assiniboine River.

27 holes are here; the 18-hole Emerald Course checks in at 6343 yards from the tips, while the 9-hole Gold Course is executive-length. The nearby Assiniboine River comes into play on three holes and four small ponds contribute to the overall challenge of the course.

The adult walking rate is C$32 (carts are C$31). Frequent-player and season passes are available, as are junior, senior, 9-hole, and twilight discounts.

I would describe Blumberg as a "value" track. The course layout was nice - it features a few easy holes and a few hard holes. The greens were pretty terrible though.

Nice course. Back nine more difficult.

JB is a course that has more potential than people give it credit for. if the powers that be put more time into course maintanance and define the holes with some trees and shrubs it would get more respect. otherwise i played my round alone and finished in 2hrs and 30min for $22 bucks... thats a good deal!
