Bear Creek Golf Complex
500 E Riggs Rd
Chandler, AZ 85249-3605, United States

480.883.8200
This 36-hole facility is located in south Chandler ¼-mile east of Arizona Avenue. Bear Creek Golf Complex is the result of a partnership between the City of Chandler, the County of Maricopa, and a private developer. As the name implies, Jack Nicklaus' design firm was the architect here, led by Bill O'Leary.

The Bear Course is the regulation-length track, while the Cub Course is especially friendly for new players and kids. Booking online is good for discount fees.

I thought the course was very fun, challenging, and well maintained. While green fees for 3 people was $107, when you consider the cost at other courses this is a relatively good price for the conditions at this course. I thought that the course was extremely well maintained, and the fairways and 1st cuts were in great shape for as hot as it is. I thought perhaps there were a few places where the rough could use some work, we lost balls right off the first cut simply because they rolled into thick bush, never to be seen again. One thing I think the course could improve on is pace of play, we found ourselves waiting for the group in front, with the group behind pushing us, all day. In other words, stalemate! The staff is very friendly and did work hard to alleviate the crowded course.

Great course and great value (used Golfnow.com to book) for primetime rates near Phoenix. I played at 8:30 on a Tuesday and had a great time. As always, Nicklaus puts a premium on hitting good shots to the right spot and the greens were great.

I love the Cub layout for an executive course. You wiill use most of your irons. The greens, however, a pretty rough, shaggy and slow slow slow.

I found this to be a very good course for amateurs. It would be easy for pros. Very good value for the money. The day I played it was very quick play as course was not loaded up.
