This course hosts the PGA Tour's annual Heritage Classic and is widely regarded not only as the most popular course on Hilton Head, but was also ranked #1 in South Carolina by Golf Magazine. It was designed by Pete Dye with Jack Nicklaus consulting, and opened in 1969. The course will be closed during the summer of 2015; the fairways, rough, and tee-boxes will be re-seeded with Celebration Bermuda, while the greens will be re-seeded with TifEagle Bermuda.

Along with the nearby Ocean Course and Heron Point by Pete Dye, Harbour Town is owned and operated by Sea Pines Resort.

Looked forward to the opportunity to play and enjoyed myself but did feel a bit rushed. Fore caddy did a great job and I'm sure he was one of the best. Cost however seemed high compared to some of the other tour event courses I have played. It's iconic and certainly I mean no disrespect but I certainly expected a bit more. But as I share with everyone if you have the opportunity to play a tour venue go for it.

A first-rate PGA Tour course. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy the day we played there. Regardless, it met or exceeded all of my expectations. Plan to play there again in 2016 after the reseeding.

This is an awesome course, a great experience and well worth the price. The forecaddie (Chris) was excellent as a host and knowledgeable.

One of Pete Dye's best designs. The greens are especially small, so accuracy is a must, as well as correct placement of the tee. We had to take a fore-caddie but he was instrumental in having us hit to the correct locations. The greens had been top-dressed so spinning an approach shot was difficult along with the hard greens. Not a lot of sand in the traps, but most green-side bunkers were small to hit.
The course is extremely well marked for yardage so if you don't have a GPS or laser, not to worry.
It's amazing how large the greens appear on TV while in actuality they are quite small.
Would love to play it again.

Cart path only all the time. Forced to take fore caddy. Yardages wrong all day from fairway. Recommend walking unless you wish to carry clubs back and forth all day. Course is in great condition, small greens.

One of the best courses I have played so far.

If this was not a course the PGA played on it would not be worth the $$$. Daniel, our forecaddie was great but I expected a little bit more from the property to make it an experience. The course was in great shape. The greens are very small which adds to the toughness of the course. Overall it is a wonderful course. I played TPC Sawgrass in Feb and expected more from Harbour Town. Would I play it again? Not sure since there are a number of other great courses on Hilton Head Island.

Our forecaddie was great and helped me to get through this course the first time. Loved hole 18. Just missed a 6 footer for par that would have really capped off a great day of golf.

Playing with a caddie is a totally different experience. You can have a forecaddie assigned to your group or a caddie dedicated to you. Doug, our forecaddie, did an EXCEPTIONAL job. Well worth his tip.
The course is immaculate, the greens are very difficult to adjust. That's why PGA players rate these greens the most difficult on Tour after the Masters.
