In the late fifties and early sixties, developer Carl Drake had an idea, and a darn good idea. Carl believed that people wanted to live on the golf course, and he was right. That is how Valleybrook Country Club came into being.

Carl and several of his associates began the development of the course and the community in what was then in the country north of Hixson, Tennessee, a suburb of Chattanooga.

Valleybrook Country Club features 18 beautiful and challenging holes that play to 6,704 yards, featuring Championship Bermuda greens in a charming residential setting. Anchored by a club house with, dinning room, grill, pro shop and locker rooms, the club also features a junior Olympic pool.

Vallleybrook hosted a PGA Tour stop for over 10 years and still today plays host to the Men's Redbud Invitational, one of the areas oldest tournaments.

Decent layout, front nine keep the driver in the bag because of all the doglegs. Greens are average at best. Lots of indents in greens cause ball to go offline.

Due to a very rainy winter and poor maintenance, the course is in terrible condition. I played the front 9 and 4 holes had been shortened to par 3. Therefore, it practically plays like an executive course. I was disappointed that I was charged the full greens fee and was not informed of the course conditions before I teed off. I would not recommend playing here until they have had an opportunity to get the course ready to play for the upcoming season.
