Dauphin Highlands Golf Course
650 S Harrisburg St
Harrisburg, PA 17113-1218, United States

717 986 1984
Dauphin Highlands is an upscale – yet affordable – public golf course built on the gently rolling hills overlooking the Susquehanna River just east of Harrisburg .

Given a "Four Star" rating by Golf Digest magazine, Dauphin Highlands was designed by William Love of Ault, Clark and Associates, Ltd. Of Kensington, Maryland and opened for play on September 1, 1995 .

The course features a spacious practice facility which includes a large driving range with four target greens. Dauphin Highlands sports large, undulating greens, multiple tees on every hole, Bent Grass fairways, and 100-foot elevation changes on each nine. Many holes wind through mature strands of trees, some offer the challenge of sand and water, while others are framed with wildflowers that change with the season.

It has been 14 years since I played Dauphin Highlands, we moved to Charlotte NC. We moved back to PA in 2018 but I haven't been playing golf much. The course was in excellent condition and the greens rolled great.
The play was painfully slow the Friday (11:28am) that I played, didn't finish 18 until 5:30 pm.

This course was in surprisingly wonderful condition. I never had a bad lie. Greens were a little slow, but good for a much played public course. Sand traps had a lot of different sand. But I noticed there was a lot of new sand in many. So I will assume they were all going to get the new sand treatment. Wide fairways helped a lot, and great views were plenty. When you compare this to other public golf courses, you just can't beat this one. I am coming back for more.

Love the layout of the course. It seems that the greens need work as this winter has taken a toll. Looks like some of the greens are being lost .

one of the nicest public courses in the harrisburg area. 8-half out of 10

The only thing i really found fault with is the condition of the greens and bunkers. The bunkers were hard as rocks, looks like they may do a full rake once every couple weeks. They also have a few greens that are in an incredibly poor state of repair. Sandy, grassless and bumpy patches that cover more than 1/2 of the green. I'm sure that will be fixed eventually.

One of my favorite courses to play in our area. You use a lot of clubs in your bag. Only negative is some issues with there greens and the pace of play.
